Summer Hang 2025

Supportive 21st Century Skills Practice Integrated with Real World Experiences

Gaining work experience is a challenge for many teens, especially neurodiverse teens. This three-week summer program provides high school-aged students with a safe learning environment to develop their hard and soft work-based learning skills. By the end of the session, participants will exit with a certificate of completion, a resume with real-world experience, and greater confidence in life and social skills.

Participants receive coaching from skilled professionals with over 40 years of combined experience. Students participate in group workshops to create resumes and community-based activities to learn life and job skills. Community activities will combine volunteering opportunities and field trips that support job and life skills. Through weekly practice, students develop their executive functioning skills (e.g., time management, planning, organization, etc.) to create and manage a schedule of activities, workshops, and even planning, shopping for, and cooking group meals. During coaching sessions, students will identify and set goals that prevent mental blocks and focus on engagement. They will also practice conversational skills with peers and prospective employers through authentic activity.
